  • MAN RUSHED TO HOSPITAL AFTER BEING INJURED DURING A VEHICLE FIRE IN WALKDEN

    A man was rushed to hospital this evening after emergency services were called to his home on Church Road, Walkden, after reports of a car on fire.

    Fire Engines from Farnworth and Eccles were sent to the scene and quickly brought the blaze under control.

    The man was taken by air ambulance to the burns unit at Wythenshawe Hospital.

    Police say that the incident is not being treated as serious.

    A GMP Spokesman said:

    Quote

     

    "We were called at 6.05pm to reports of a fire on Church Road in Worsley.

    "One fire engine from Farnworth and one from Eccles attended the scene.

    "We have extinguished a fire involving a vehicle. "

    "One man has been taken to Wythenshawe Hospital suffering from burn injuries.

    "We're still at the scene along with police and North West Ambulance Service."
