Emergency services were called to a house in the Duchy area of Salford last night, after a gunman entered a house on Duchy road and opened fire at an occupant who was watching television with friends.
Firearms officers and paramedics were quickly dispatched to the scene whereupon they found the 27 year old man suffering from gun shot wounds to his legs.
The man was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, his injuries are said not to be life threatening.
This is the latest in a number of incidents, last Wednesday shots were fired through the door of a home in Howard Street, fortunately no one was injured. GMP have since revealed that they believe the home involved was not the intended target.
Yesterday 12/02/2019 a controlled explosion took place after police discovered a 'potentially viable' explosive device along with a gun, although a police spokesperson has disclosed that the police are not treating the incidents as linked.
A resident we spoke too who does not wish to be named said that she believed there was a gang land feud being fought out on the streets of Salford, however, police have not confirmed this to be the case.
Anyone with information should call police on 101, quoting incident number 1897 of 12/02/2019, or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
