A new executive director has joined the leadership team at Salix Homes.

Eric Tamanis took up the post of Executive Director of Resources earlier this month (November), taking over the reins from Sara Sharrock, who has left the organisation to take up a new post as Chief Executive of Empower Housing Association in Chorley.

Eric joins our three-strong Executive Management Team, working alongside our Chief Executive Sue Sutton and Executive Director of Operations Sian Grant.

Eric has worked in the social housing sector for more than 30 years, having qualified as an accountant during his early career and going on to hold directorate responsibilities for finance, property services and business development in various organisations.

At Salix Homes, Eric is responsible for overseeing all our back-office support services, which includes Finance, Performance, Governance, People Services, Marketing and ICT.

    He said:

“I’m honoured to join the Salix Homes team and look forward to working with the Board, our partners, stakeholders and of course our colleagues, as we face the challenges and opportunities ahead of us.

“My approach is to focus on directing resources to the benefit of customers, adopting a commercial approach driven by value for money and social principles, while maximising the potential of our colleagues.

“My focus has always been on people – our customers and colleagues – remembering always why we do what we do.”
