Councillor Barbara Bentham, lead member for environment, neighbourhoods, sports and leisure praised the efforts of the many volunteers who support council staff in maintaining and improving the parks and green spaces.
She, said:
Quote"Parks and green spaces have to meet very high standards to win this prestigious award, so it is a great accomplishment to maintain Green Flag status for another year. I'd like to congratulate and thank everyone behind this achievement because our parks and green spaces are so important for people and wildlife."
Judges assess all areas against strict criteria. The spaces are rated on being welcoming, clean, healthy, safe and secure and how well they involve the local community.
