Operation Rogue Trader was held between 8 to 12 May and involved the work of Police, Trading Standards, Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), the UK Border Force and other agencies. Coordinated by Operation Liberal, the national intelligence unit responsible for cross border criminality and the National Police Chief Council, it was an opportunity for partners to come together for a week of enforcement action. It was designed to disrupt criminal activity and to put an end to illegitimate traders who target the most vulnerable members of our community.

The week-long initiative resulted in the following results; three vehicles recovered, over £2,500 in cash seized, 23 companies were stopped and checked and 17 vehicles were seized for no tax or insurance. In addition the partners inspected three meat trucks resulting in notice being served for an unhygienic vehicle and the removal of meat products as they were unfit for human consumption.
