POLICE APPEAL AFTER TWO WOMEN WERE SPIKED AND ASSAULTED DURING A NIGHT OUT IN MONTON

GMP Detectives are appealing for any information regarding the assault and suspected drug spiking of two women who were out on a night out in Monton in June 2022.

Police say that at approximately 12:30am on Sunday 19 June, the two women left the bar and got into a silver people carrier taxi to go home.

The next memory the two female victims have is being at one of the victim’s home addresses, both women with multiple injuries.

Neither of the victims can recall how they received those injuries.

Enquiries have suggested that both the victims travelled in the taxi only a few hundred meters before exiting and were then subsequently picked up in Monton by a couple in a Black Mercedes.

Police are appealing for help in identifying the following people and information:

• The Taxi driver of the silver people carrier who collected and dropped off the victims on Monton Road.

• The driver and passenger of the Black Mercedes who collected the two victims.
