Police are appealing for information following a firearms discharge in Salford.
At around 10.15pm on Friday 3 April 2020, police were called to reports of a firearms discharge on Whit Lane.
Officers attended and extensive enquiries are being carried out to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident.
No injuries have been reported and no arrests have been made.
Detective Inspector Rebeca Mills, of GMP’s Salford district, said:
Quote“I would, first and foremost, like to use this opportunity to reassure members of the public that we believe this was a targeted incident and there is no threat to the wider community.
“Incidents of this nature, understandably, cause concern but extra officers are working hard in the area to establish the full circumstances surrounding what happened and identify those responsible.
“I would appeal to anyone with information which may assist us with our enquiries to contact us or Crimestoppers as soon as possible. They can also speak directly to the officers in the area.”
