Police were called to reports of a fire arms discharge on Church Street in Eccles at around 10pm on Sunday 8 December 2019.
They are currently looking for information in identifying an offender was described as a man wearing dark clothing who is afterwards believed to have made off in a grey people carrier.
Several shops were cordoned off by police tape along Liverpool Road and police remained at the scene overnight as forensics officers carried out searches.
Fortunately no one was injured during the incident and as of yet, there have been no arrests made.
Police say that further enquiries are ongoing and that they would like to reassure the public that they are treating the crime very seriously.
Detective Inspector Joanne Kay, of the Salford district said,
Quote“Fortunately no one was hurt in this instance; however I would like to reassure the public that we are treating this crime very seriously and are doing all we can to find those responsible.
“I am particularly keen to speak to anyone that was on or around Church Street at the time of this incident and may have heard or seen anything unusual or suspicious.”
