Police were called to Albert Street in Cadishead once more at around 18:05 yesterday evening (Thursday 27th August), after receiving a call about a male whom appeared to pull what was believed to be a gun from his waistband and then proceed to smash a car window.

Due to the mention of a gun, firearms officers were quickly in the area conducting a search for the male who fortunately was located a short time later by firearms officers on Hamilton Avenue.

The man was arrested for the offence of criminal damage and found to be in possession of an imitation firearm.

Earlier in the evening another man was arrested following what police describe as a 'disturbance' on the same street.
