At around 6.20pm on Saturday 24 June 2023, Greater Manchester Police were called to reports of a stabbing outside a business property on Bury Old Road, Salford.

A man was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries and was later released.

On Sunday 25 June 2023, proactive policing by officers from the City of Salford saw them obtain CCTV images that assisted their investigation, which led to the arrest of a man in Cheetham Hill 24 hours later.

Hamzah Mohsin (28/11/1998) of Rothesay Road, Crumpsall was arrested and subsequently charged with section 18 assault, possession of a bladed article in a public place and attempted section 18 assault against another man.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Manchester Crown Court on Tuesday 8 August 2023.

Officers believe this to be an isolated incident and there is no threat to the wider community.
