  • POLICE CONFIRM BODY OF MISSING TEACHER JOHN CURRAN HAS BEEN FOUND IN MANCHESTER SHIP CANAL

    After extensive searches focused in Irlam and Cadishead, police have sadly confirmed that they have recovered the body of missing local teacher John Curran from the Manchester Ship Canal in Irlam on Friday night.

    John went missing from his home on Francis Road in Irlam at around 7:30pm on Tuesday 6th April after telling family that he was going for a walk.

     

    GMP have said that there are thought to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

    A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police, said:

    “Officers searching for a missing man have sadly found a body in the Manchester Ship Canal in Irlam.

    “He has been identified as missing 29-year-old John Curran, last seen in Irlam.

    “There are believed to be no suspicious circumstances and a report is being prepared for HM Coroner.”

     

     

    We wish to express our condolences to his family at this tragic time.
