Police have set up a cordon around the JD Wetherspoons owned Eccles Cross Public House on Regent Street in Eccles after what we believe to have a fight between two groups of men.

It is unknown if anyone was hurt during the incident.

Police officers are said to have arrived on scene at around 11:20pm yesterday evening.

They remain on scene this morning as they carry out their investigations.

We have approached Greater Manchester Police for more information.

This is the second time within a week that the road has been cordoned off as on Sunday 27th March, a male and female were arrested for assault after an incident outside the same pub.
