Police responded this morning 20/06/18, to numerous complaints from a neighbourhood plagued by youths joyriding on stolen motorcycles. Two stolen motorcycles were recovered in a crackdown on the Westwood Park estate in Winton.

GMP officers say they had a very productive morning on the estate in which two stolen bikes were recovered.

Hopefully, it will be quieter on Westwood Park tonight.

Thanks for your continued support. PC Paul Mottram.

The area has been plagued by the sound of motorcyclists racing up and down the streets in the dead of night and early morning.

Just last week, I myself was witness to one cyclist mounting a pavement and losing control of his bike and ending up faceplanted into the floor. Had someone been on the pavement he would have collided with them and the incident would have been far worse.

Members of the Salford Online Facebook Group are constantly seeing posts from people who have had bikes and mopeds stolen. The frequency of posts has been increasing of late.
