Police appear to have uncovered a stash of weapons after a fire tore through a flat in Little Hulton this afternoon.
At around 12:30pm a fire broke out in a flat above the ForHousing offices on Longshaw Drive.
Six fire appliances and an aerial platform were sent to the scene by the Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service (GMFRS), a spokesperson for whom said:

"Fire crews remain at the scene of the incident on Longshaw Drive, Little Hulton. Firefighters used six breathing apparatus, three hose reels, one jet, a turntable ladder and thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire.
"Firefighters were able to stop significant fire spread to neighbouring properties and will be in attendance at the scene for a number of hours.
"Three casualties have been conveyed to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation and a number of residents were evacuated and checked as a precaution by North West Ambulance Service (NWAS). "
Three people were taken to hospital having inhaled smoke as a precaution.
Locals were advised to close their windows and doors to prevent smoke inhalation and North West Ambulance Service reportedly sent a Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) to the area just as a precaution.
Police are said to have recovered a stash of weapons that were discovered in the flat, including what appear to be swords and air-rifles.
As yet it is unclear as to how the blaze started and investigations continue at the scene.
