Eagle-eyed police officers in Little Hulton spotted a vehicle driving along Cleggs Lane whilst displaying false number plates yesterday (4th Feb 2020).

Attempts were made to stop the vehicle, but unfortunately the driver failed to stop and managed to get away.

Not too long afterwards the vehicle was found abandoned by a patrol in the Bradford Street area of Farnworth.

Police were however able to identify the driver who has since been summoned to court.

It is thought that the vehicle was possibly going to be used in drive off type offences at petrol forecourts around the area as five empty plastic drums were found within the boot area.
