A man received injuries after suffering pellet wounds which appear to have been discharged from a moving vehicle in the Douglas Green area, shortly after 6pm on Sunday evening (30th October).
Police firearms officers are said to have descended on the area with the aid of the police helicopter, which was called in to try and locate the vehicle and the gunman.
The victim was taken to hospital but was later released.
Investigating officers have since determined a Ball Bearing gun was used in the attack.
A police spokesperson, said:
Quote"After further investigation we can confirm that a genuine firearm was not used, rather the evidence suggests that the suspect used an imitation firearm."
