Police have launched an investigation into a firearms discharge On Ryecroft Avenue, just off Meadowgate Road in Weaste.
The incident which took place in the early hours of New Years day involved a gunman who fired through a ground floor window at the property. Fortunately police say that no one was injured during the attack.
Neighbours initially thought it was a firework as part of the celebrations that were taking place, but it was quickly determined to have been a firearms discharge.
Police are asking for anyone with CCTV footage or who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
A spokesperson for GMP, said:

"At around 00:50am on New Year’s Day (Sunday 1 January 2023), officers responded to a report of a disturbance on Rye Croft Avenue.
"After an initial investigation it has transpired to be a firearms discharge through the front ground floor window of a property. No injuries were reported at the time and after initial enquiries no arrests have been made.
"Detectives are now in a position to appeal for witnesses and gain any further information that may help with their investigation, including doorbell footage."
