Police are conducting an enquiry after reports of a sexual assault having taken place against a staff member at the Sodexo ran HMP Forrest Bank in Agecroft.
It is believed that the incident happened between two members of staff late last year, one of which alleges that they were sexually assaulted.
The prison has declined to comment on the incident.
It is said that so far, no arrests have been made.
Greater Manchester Police issued a statement which reads:
Quote"GMP received a report of a sexual assault that is reported to have occurred in [2022]. Officers have responded to the victim and enquiries are currently ongoing at this time."
