A firearm discharge at a house in Ordsall, which took place just days before another on Ryecroft Avenue in Weaste, is not thought to be linked at this stage, according to police.

Police believe that at some point between December 23 and December 27, shots were fired at the ground-floor window of a house on McCready Avenue in Ordsall.

No one was injured during the attack and there have been no arrests made so far.

A similar attack took place in the early hours of New Years Day in Weaste.

GMP can be contacted on 0161 856 5235 or 101 quoting incident number 1985 of 27/12/22. Alternatively, details can be passed to the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
