We are being told that a large number of police officers have been seen on Regent Street in Eccles earlier this evening, with confirmation that several roads in the area were cordoned of from the Ladywell Roundabout to the Wetherspoons Public House, as officers responded to an incident in the town.
The nature of the incident is currently unknown and we have contacted Greater Manchester Police for comment.
If you are driving around that area, we would advise you to seek an alternative route.
