Greater Manchester Police's Traffic Unit have made an arrest after they spotted a silver Mercedes vehicle being driven erratically in on Liverpool Road in Eccles.
The occupant was asked to pull over after police from E-Relief became concerned over the persons manner of driving and the general condition of the vehicle.
The passenger side front tyre of the vehicle was flat and badly damaged.
Upon pulling over the occupant was asked to undertake a roadside drug wipe test which indicated positive for Cannabis.
An arrest was made for the offence and the person was taken into police custody, police say that charges relating to driving an unroadworthy vehicle are likely also.
Last year pockets of the country saw a significant rise in drug driving offences, despite traffic reductions of up to 80% due to the coronavirus pandemic and the effects of lockdown.
