Police have issued a warning after a man driving a blue van stopped two 13 year old children and offered them a lift.

The incident happened on the 24/06/19 at 20:00hrs in Boothstown.

He is described as being a white male in his 40's, with short grey hair and being clean shaven.

He was said to be driving an Navy Blue coloured van along Boothshall way in Boothstown when the incident happened. The make and model of the van is unknown.

The man asked the children if they wanted a lift and asked them to get in, fortunately the children had the good sense to run away and alert their parents.

The van is thought to have then carried on towards Leigh road.

The offender was apparently acting alone but had a brown staffy type dog in the van with him.

If anyone has any information please contact GMP via 101.
