Police are raising awareness of an increase of residential burglaries across the area and wish to reach out to the public for their attention.

Officers say they are committed to keeping you safe and look to respond to the increase of crime in your area. You will notice that officers will be conducting hi-visibility patrols in your area to counter this increase.

They ask that you continue to report any suspicious activity around your homes be it day or night, and that you regularly check your homes in the morning and evening for any signs of disturbance.

If anything is found, please call them so they can take a look and investigate. They ask that your properties remain locked and secure when your not in and ensure access to the rear is not possible through use of a padlock on gates.

Although the weather is getting warmer ensure that your windows are closed in accessible areas.

Patrols will be out and about for you to speak with and voice your concerns in person.

Crime prevention leaflets will also be sent out and delivered in affected areas for more information on how you can keep you and your family out of the reach of burglars.

Should you have any information on anyone who is involved in this crime they also urge you to get in touch, You can do this via the usual channels being 101 or 999 but also anonymously on Crime Stoppers. See online for details.
