The Billionaire bookie/property developer Fred Done has shown off plans for an 18 storey tower block comprising of 115 apartments after his Salboy company submitted plans to Salford Council.

Existing buildings would be demolished to make way for the new block on a 0.22 acre site on Queen Street in Greengates 'regeneration zone',  which lies just off Trinity Way in what is seen as an up and coming part of the city dubbed 'Salchester'.

The proposals suggest that the development would be a mix of one and two bed apartments offering those lucky enough to be able to afford them to view scenes of the city from a communal roof top terrace which would be accessible to all residents.

Salboy says its vision is for a building that ‘meets the ground, touches the sky and turns a corner’.

Greengate has seen a boom in property construction and development in recent years and there are further plans for the area from developers Renaker for what some have dubbed the three sisters, a trio of tower blocks that will reach for the skies in the ever expanding and increasingly blurred boundary between our two cities.

This is not the first foray into Greengate for Fred as his company recently completed a gated community of 380 flats.

This latest venture has been designed by respected architects  John Mathews and if the proposals are given the go-ahead - work will commence as soon as possible thereafter.
