The Gruffalo, music and arts activity at Little Hulton Library Sat 2nd Dec
Join Salford Community Leisure at Little Hulton Library this Saturday 2nd Dec 10am-1pm for a special screening of the film, the Gruffalo.
The screening will be followed by two hours of music and arts activities, delivered by Louise Clarke and Salford Music and Performing Arts Service (MAPAS). Tickets are £1 per child or £3 per family. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Refreshments will be available for a small charge.

Come and meet Father Christmas in his magical grotto at Ordsall Hall and receive a gift. £4.50 per child (plus booking fee), booking required.

What is Christmas without a theatre show? Visit Eccles Library for this magical and original tale told with puppets, acting and live music. Storyteller Peter Grimm finds a great big wooden box. Inside is the 'Thing' that takes him on an unusual journey that weaves its way through a medley of well-known Brothers Grimm tales, to ultimately unlock his imagination and free his stories. Suitable for everyone aged 5 and over, a delight for all the family.
Alteri Choir at Ordsall Hall, Sunday 10 December, 7.30 – 9pm
Alteri returns to present performances of Benjamin Britten's magical Ceremony of Carols, with harpist Angelina Warburton and other Christmas music by Peter Warlock, Palestrina, Byrd, Victoria and Marenzio. £10 (plus booking fee), including mulled apple and a mince pie. Booking required.
Christmas Wreath Making, Sunday 17 December, 9.30am – 12.30pm
Get creative and make a festive wreath to take home using natural
materials such as chillies, oranges and pine cones. For ages 14 +.
£25 (plus booking fee) including mince pies. All materials are provided.
Sleepy Stories and Christmas Cheer at Ordsall Hall, Thursday 21 December
6pm & 7 pm
Join Sleepy Steph for some Christmas cheer & winter tales. Grab your favourite teddy, a cushion and a cup of cocoa before bedtime to hear stories in our Great Hall. Suitable for those aged 3+. £7.50 per ticket or £25 for a family of 4 (plus booking fee). Hot chocolate included in ticket price. Booking essential.
Festive Afternoon Tea at Salford Museum & Art Gallery - Throughout December, 12 - 3pm
For a special seasonal treat, enjoy a delicious selection of sandwiches including turkey and stuffing, pigs in blankets and brie with cranberry.
Tempting sweet treats follow, with scones, stollen, Christmas cake and yule log, all served with loose-leaf tea or fresh ground coffee.
£12.95 per person or upgrade and enjoy a glass of festive fizz for an additional £5. All bookings must be made in advance.
A Christmas Killing – Interactive Murder Mystery by Highly Suspect, December 13, Eccles Library 7-9pm
When world-renowned businessman Sir Alan Scrooge is found dead in his parlour on a snow-covered morn, you'd think there'd be no shortage of suspects who'd want to see the miserable miser murdered. But why are there no tracks in the snow outside? Why is there a wound but no weapon? Any why has spiritualist Charlie Dickens been seen snooping around the premises? Can Scrooge really have been killed by a ghost of Christmas past? This great night out before Christmas gets people working together to solve the crime over a festive drink. Fun, fatalities and frivolities guaranteed!
