The popular foodie fortnight is now in its 13th year and serving up another helping of tasty, local treats – including the new Salford Pale Ale (SPA) created by local brewery First Chop. From a pub crawl by canal boat to Salford’s first pop up cake fest, a ‘pie-off’ pitting children and adults against each other to find the best apple pie baker and an independent beer festival to wash it all down there’s a huge menu of fun, food and drink to sample. Local food and drink heroes have created a range of special offers including the cheapest three course meal in Greater Manchester at just £2 a head or the chance to sample the work of up and coming chefs in a seven course taster meal for under £17 a head. Or you can learn how to feed yourself for free with foraging walks around Salford’s country parks.Councillor Ann-Marie Humphreys, executive support member for culture leisure and sport, said:
