On a wet and gloomy morning which seemed apt as we visited The Church Inn on Ford Lane, Salford to witness the demolition of one of Salford's oldest pubs which dated back to the 1820s.
The pub has been closed for several months now and its fate was sealed when the owners Admiral Taverns said that the pub needed to many repairs and had, "no long-term future".
I have many memories of the pub as I am sure many of you will including the darts team from this pub who went to Russia to play in a tournament and were tailed by the KGB as suspected spies!
The nearby building which was until recently being used by Marpol Security will also be demolished in the next few days, a building I can recall as being used by Salford City Transport bus drivers a good few years ago and then became a bank... all memories now.
