Detective Constable Neil Rothwell, of GMP’s Child Protection Investigation Unit, said:

“Jolly’s crimes are truly awful and it is pleasing to see he is now behind bars where he can no longer harm children.

“I must thank the victim and their family for having the strength to come forward. Without their courage, we would not have been able to conduct this investigation and get the result we’ve got today.

“We would encourage anyone who has been a victim of sexual assault, or knows someone who has, to get in touch with GMP. We will always listen to you and investigate all allegations.”
