After over 110 years of providing City Team football for boys, Salford Schools FA are about to launch their first representative Girls team.
Girls football has been organised in the City for several years at both primary and secondary level, but the opportunity to progress to City Team level has not been there before.
Chairman of SSFA, John Peters said:

“We are very excited at the prospect of launching our first girls team. This has been months in the planning and we have recruited a talented team to administer and coach the new team.
The girls will compete in local and regional competitions as well as the prestigious English Schools Trophy on a national level. They will also have the opportunity to trial for Greater Manchester County team"
Any girl at present attending any of the Salford Secondary Schools or Independent Schools are eligible for a trial.
Schools will nominate trialist or possible players can register their interest by emailing ssfagirlsfootball@gmail.com.
Please note this opportunity is for existing players and not for girls new to the game.
