Police were called to reports of a firearms discharge at a property on Murray Street in Higher Broughton at around 2.30am on Sunday (6th September).

Upon arrival, officers discovered that a firearm had been discharged at the door of a property.

A cordon was put into place but has since been lifted.

Police remain at the scene whilst they continue with their investigations.

No one was injured during the attack.

Just last week, police brought in new stop and search measures in the area after an escalation of gang related violence.

    A spokesman for GMP said:
