  • SIX HOSPITALISED AFTER WALKDEN HOUSE FIRE

    The blaze which started at around 4:58 in a terrace house on Jackson Street in Walkden was attended by four fire crews, three hoses and a ventilation fan were used to tackle the fire and ensure it was extinguished.

    Police were diverting traffic between St Mary's Road and A575 Worsley Road North.

    This has now been extended and is now shut from Louisa St to Westland Avenue.

    Five People (all thought to be children) from the house were taken to hospital, it is unclear as to their condition at this moment, it is currently not known who the sixth person is.

    Drivers are being urged to avoid the already congested area, please find an alternative route and avoid if possible.

    As soon as we have more information we will update this article.
