The new Ceremonial Mayor of Salford, Councillor Gina Reynolds, has selected St Ann’s Hospice as one of her nominated charities to support.

On Sunday 21st May The Ceremonial Mayor and Consort took part in the Civic Sunday Parade and Service starting at the Town Hall, Civic Centre and headed towards St Peter’s Church in Swinton.

Our Fundraising Manager, Lucy Leeming, went along to the event to meet Councillor Gina to celebrate the ceremonial event.

This wonderful charity is close to my heart and very personal to me. Sadly, both my mum and auntie passed away peacefully at St Ann’s Hospice. They received excellent end-of-life care and I was provided with fantastic support from the caring staff. I can’t thank them enough and wanted to give something back.

We are honoured to have been chosen by Councillor Gina as one of her charities, with our Little Hulton site being a vital part of the community in Salford.

We feel honoured to have the opportunity to work with Madam Mayor and her charity committee to raise vital funds and awareness for St Ann’s Hospice. We cannot wait to get started and help put together some exciting plans. Thank you so much to Madam Mayor.

Our partnership will start with a committee meeting on 14th June, where we will start planning fundraising events for the upcoming months.

The Ceremonial Mayor is also supporting START – Inspiring Minds and Agnes Hopkins Community Centre during her term in office.
