An 18-year-old man was stabbed during a fight in Eccles close to the shopping centre in the early hours of this morning (Friday 22nd April).
Police received reports of an altercation between to men on Church Street at around 3.20am and whereupon a teenager was found to have received a stab wound. The area was quickly cordoned off as police forensic officers scoured the scene for evidence. The man was taken to nearby Salford Royal but was later discharged as his wounds were fortunately not life threatening.
There have been no arrests so far and police investigations continue.
A spokesperson for GMP said:

"We were called at about 3:20am today (22 April) to reports of two males fighting on Church Street, Eccles. An 18-year-old male was treated in hospital for a stab wound that is not life-threatening and he has now been discharged. No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing."
A spokesperson for North West Ambulance Service said: "We received a call at 03.15am to Church Street in Eccles and dispatched an ambulance and rapid response vehicle to the scene. The ambulance crew then conveyed a patient to hospital."
