    1). It takes just eight minutes for sunlight to travel 93 million miles to earth. In 8 Minutes (Tue 10 Oct) Alexander Whitley takes inspiration from solar science research and its stunning imagery. 8 Minutes is part of Manchester Science Festival 2017.

    2). Theo Clinkard’s This Bright Field (Tue 31 Oct – Wed 1 Nov) co-commissioned by The Lowry, asks the audience to to share the stage with the performers in part one, before returning to the auditorium in  part two to experience Clinkard’s choreography on a cinematic scale.

    3). As part of UK-India Year of Culture 2017, 2 Faced Dance present Outlands(Wed 4 Oct) a triple bill of contemporary dance by and for three female choreographers from India and the UK.

    4). Artist and Choreographer Holly Blakey dives into the hyper-sexualised language of the music video and dynamics of contemporary pop culture withSome Greater Class (Mon 16 & Tue 17 Oct.

    5). Multi-award-winning and internationally recognised choreographer Yasmeen Godder will premiere her new work Face In (Tue 24 Oct) commissioned by Candoco Dance Company and performed by their company of disabled and non-disabled dancers.

    6). The theatre is filled with smoke and scent as you are taken on a journey into a haze of uncertainty, time and love in Andante by Igor and Moreno, Developed With The Lowry. (Thu 26 & Fri 27 Oct).

    7). Shobana Jeyasingh presents the world premiere of the 2017 edit of her radical re-imagining of Marius Petipa’s legendary ballet ‘La Bayadere’Bayadere – The Ninth Life (Thu 28 & Fri 29 Sept).

    8). Birmingham Royal Ballet invite audiences to step onto a magic carpet in David Bintley’s Aladdin (Wed 20 – Sat 23 Sept).

    9). Rambert present Christopher Bruce’s iconic Ghost Dances for the first time in 13 years alongside two new works (Thu 28 – Sat 30 Sept).

    10). International dance icon Carlos Acosta launches his brand new company Acosta Danza who will present Debut (Thu 12 – Sat 14 October) as part of their first UK tour.

    Eckhard Thiemann programming associate for dance at The Lowry said; “This autumn’s fantastic line up ranges from ballet to dance from India, from Afro Cuban to the kind of dance we know from pop videos. We welcome visits from much-liked established artists like Carlos Acosta and Shobana Jeyasingh, alongside the hottest new names on the scene like Igor&Moreno and Holly Blakey.”
