THE BODY OF A WOMAN WAS FOUND ON NEW BAILEY STREET YESTERDAY EVENING

The body of a woman has been found on New Bailey Street, close to the border between Salford and Manchester.

Police were called to reports of concern for the welfare of a woman at around 6:45pm yesterday evening (Wednesday 20th July), unfortunately despite the best efforts of the paramedics, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death according to police, who have referred the case to the coroner.

Forensics officers attended the scene which was close to the New Bailey NCP car park.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police, said:

"At around 6:45pm on Wednesday 20 July 2022, we received reports of a concern for the welfare of a woman on New Bailey Street, Salford.

"Despite the best attempts of the emergency services sadly the woman was pronounced deceased at the scene. It is believed the death was not suspicious and a file has been passed onto the coroner."
