It has been four days since police launched a crack down on drink and drug driving and these are the people from Salford who have been arrested and charged so far...
On the 25th of June, Geoffrey Newton (19/01/1965) of Fir Street, Salford was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol.
He is due to appear at Manchester & Salford Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 24 July.
The following day Miroslav Potocky (28/10/1969) of Brindley Close, Salford was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, driving while disqualified and having no insurance.
He is due to appear at Manchester & Salford Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 1 August.
Police have warned that they will be continuing their social media shame campaign until Monday the 8th of July, if you are caught behind the wheel of a car whilst under the influence of drink or drugs, not only will you receive a sentence but you will also be publicly named.
So far the campaign has seen 29 arrests made and 19 people charged with offences across the region, many of those arrested have been released pending further investigation.
