Earlier this month, Brian Gorman the incredibly talented artist author and playwright kindly donated once again a piece of artwork showing, Manchester United Manager, Erik ten Hag celebrating his team's victory over local rivals, Liverpool.

The bidding was as they fast and furious, but there could only be one winner, step forward, John Mottershead, a Salford lad and Manchester United fan with a staggering £250 bid!

We took the artwork to John's house tonight for him and I have to say, what a lovely bloke he is, he helps the voluntary outreach group, Two Brews who provide food and warm essentials to rough sleepers,

John who is the owner of Salford Engineering Solutions allows them to use one of his units on Cobden Street to prepare food and for storage and doesn't charge them a penny!

    John told us:

    Quote

"I really like Brian's artwork and have purchased from him before at your last charity auction, it;s not about the money, it's about helping those who are less fortunate and need help for whatever reason, so I am more than happy to get involved"

We usually split the money between The Mustard Tree Emergency Foodbank and The Salford Unemployed Resources Centre, however with such a generous bid from John we can afford to also help the Emmanuel Church Foodbank on Langworthy Road, Salford, who we visited this week and were shocked to see the number of people queueing for food and legal advice etc.

I think the World needs more people like John Mottershead and Brian Gorman and I can't thank them enough.

Finally take a look at Brian's artwork which are all for sale and help the man who helps others.
