Police dealt with an incident at Salford Crescent Railway Station earlier this evening (14th July) after it is believed a person had been struck by a train.

Emergency services attended the scene shortly after 4:15pm after a member of the public reported that someone had been hit by a train on a stretch of track close to the station.

NWAS (North West Ambulance Service) were quick to respond and train services in and out of the station were suspended, however, not long afterwards NWAS left the scene having said that no one required hospitalisation.

    Police continue to investigate.

A spokesperson for NWAS has issued the following statement:

    Quote

"No one has been taken to hospital and the police are now dealing with the incident."

Train services were suspended for a short time but are now running as normal.
