A man aged 27-years-old and a 17-year-old youth who can not be named for legal reasons, have both appeared at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court this afternoon having been charged with the brutal murder of teenager Josiah Norman on the 21st of April.

Josiah was ran over, beaten and then stabbed to death on Pevril Road in the Weaste area of the city, shortly before 8:15pm.

The teenager sadly died as a result of his injuries after being rushed to hospital.

District Judge - Bernard Begley remanded both into custody ahead of appearances at Manchester Crown Court later today, Tuesday (April 27).

Both defendants spoke only to confirm their names, dates of birth and addresses.

Meanwhile a GoFundMe page has been set up to help pay for Josiah's funeral costs.
