  • UPDATED: TWO ARRESTED AND HELD IN CUSTODY AFTER A 36 YEAR OLD MAN IS HOSPITALISED WITH HEAD INJURIES IN MONTON

    Two men, aged 40 and 43, were arrested on suspicion of assault after police were called to an incident by the North West Ambulance Service, in which a 36-year-old man was found with serious head injuries in the doorway of the Old Fold residential block on Parrin Lane in Monton at around 2:45pm on Tuesday afternoon.

    The block located across from the King Fisher Kebab house lies next to the border with neighbouring Monton Village and close to the banks of the Bridgewater Canal.

    Paramedics first attended the scene whereupon the 36-year-old man was treated for his injuries before being transported to the hospital, forensics officers soon took over the investigation and the block which was taped off to the public whilst forensic searches were carried out.

    Police remain at the scene this morning and the block remains cordoned off.

    GMP have confirmed that two arrests have been made but have given no further details, we are told there is no danger to the public.
