At around 7:30 on Wednesday 23rd of August staff were alerted to three children spotted trespassing on the runway at City Airport Manchester (Barton).

The children (who are thought to be from the local area) scaled a boundary gate to gain access and in doing so could've not only put themselves in danger but also aircraft both taking off and landing.

City Airport , (home to one of the North West Air Operations Group (NWAOG) helicopters) is a busy operational airport with aircraft taking off and landing all the time. Only those with clearance and authorisation are allowed access to the runway. It is a dangerous place to be.

If parents/guardians recognise these youngsters please let the airport know via 0161 789 1362 as they have passed on the photos (unblurred) to the police to investigate.
