    At 11.50pm on Friday 18 November 2016, a green Skoda Octavia collided with a pedestrian, a 38-year-old woman, on Lower Broughton Road, near to the junction of Frederick Road.

    The woman was taken to hospital where she is being treated for a serious head injury and is in a life-threatening condition.

    The man driving the Skoda was uninjured.

    Police Constable Paul Hailwood of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “Our thoughts are with the woman’s family at this distressing time.

    “We have launched an investigation to establish the circumstances if the collision and I would urge anyone who saw what happened, to get in touch as a matter of urgency.”
