  • WOMAN HOSPITALISED AFTER M60 MOTORWAY BRIDGE FALL THIS MORNING

    Police were called after reports that a woman had fallen over the barrier of the M60 motorway bridge on Manchester Road near to Clifton during the early hours of Monday morning (19th April).

    The women has been taken to hospital via ambulance and at present the extent of her injuries is unknown.

    Both sides of the motorway were temporarily closed, causing long delays whilst emergency services dealt with the situation.

    The carriageways have since been reopened.

    A Police Spokesperson said:

    "Police were called just after 6am this morning (Monday 19 April) to a report of a woman falling from a bridge over the M60 between junctions 16 and 17.

    "Officers attended, and the woman was taken to hospital."
