The heavens are set to light up yet again as the hot weather is set to spark scattered thunderstorms later on Thursday, continuing overnight. These could be severe, yet as spectacular as those on Tuesday night.
So it looks like yet another scorcher of a day followed by a hot and humid night ahead for Salford, make sure you give your pets plenty of water and check up on any elderly neighbours who may be suffering due to adverse effects of the heat.
The warning is in effect from 1500 hours (3pm) on Thursday until 0400 hours (4am) on Friday morning.
Today:
Strong sunshine will bring a rapid rise in temperatures with much of the region becoming very hot. The heat and humidity will spark a scattering of thunderstorms through the afternoon, bringing heavy rain, frequent lightning, hail and gusty winds. Maximum temperature 35 °C.
Tonight:
Thunderstorms will continue through the evening, before clearing away to leave a largely dry night with clear spells. Temperatures will hold up leading to a warm and humid night. Minimum temperature 18 °C.
Friday:
Dry and bright at first but clouding over with outbreaks of heavy and thundery rain becoming increasingly widespread through the day. Less hot compared to Thursday but still humid. Maximum temperature 24 °C.
