  • CYCLIST LEFT WITH BROKEN RIBS AFTER COLLISION WITH HIT AND RUN MOTORBIKE

    Shortly after 3.10pm on Thursday 4 January 2018, police were called to reports of a collision involving a motorcycle and a bicycle on Palatine Road. 

    A red motorcycle was travelling towards Barlow Moor Road when it was involved in a collision with a woman riding a bicycle.   
      
    After the collision, which happened close to the junction of Spath Road, the motorcycle fled the scene, leaving the woman seriously injured. 
      
    She was taken to hospital for treatment and is still recovering from her injuries. 
      
    Police Constable Graeme Bailey of GMP’s Road Policing Unit, said:

    Quote

    “It will be a long time before this woman is able to bicycle anywhere thanks to the actions of the driver of the motorcycle. 
      
    “We are following a number of lines of enquiry to trace the motorcycle, but need the public to share any information they have to assist us. 
      
    “If you witnessed the collision, or have dash-cam footage from around the time which shows a red motorcycle travelling from Northenden along Palatine Road, please contact police.”
