A review of parliamentary boundary changes within Bolton could see Walkden form the newly proposed constituency of Bolton South and Walkden.
The new constituency would be formed by altering the existing Bolton South East boundary and the incorporation of Walkden.
Walkden itself would still remain under the control of Salford City Council.
People in the area are being asked to have their say on the 2023 boundary review proposals which aim to make parliamentary seats more equal in size of the electorate.
Bolton Council’s returning officer, Chief Executive Tony Oakman, said:
Quote
“Public feedback is an essential part 2023 Boundary Review, giving local people a say in how constituencies are linked to local communities.
“There are many ways to take part and I urge as many people as possible to have their say.”
