    Detectives investigating a sexual offence in Manchester City Centre have today (26 June) made an arrest.

    A 36-year-old man remains in police custody for questioning on suspicion of attempted rape.

    The arrest relates to an incident in an apartment block off Granby Row on Friday 24 June 2022.

    At around 10am on Friday 24 June 2022, police received a report that a woman had been tailgated in to her apartment block by a male who subsequently pushed her through her apartment door before sexually assaulting her.

    Police issued a CCTV image at the time, of a person they wanted to speak with.
