BOLTON MAN CHARGED WITH RAPE OF AN 18-YEAR-OLD WOMAN

Basil Alothman (14/08/1978) of Waggon Road, Breightmet, Bolton has been charged with rape. He has been remanded in custody to appear before Wigan Magistrates Court on Friday 4 February 2022.

At around 5.30pm, on Saturday 29 January 2022, police received a report that an 18-year-old woman had been raped which is believed to have occurred in Bolton Town centre earlier that day at 2am.

Officers from Bolton CID investigated and a 43-year-old man was arrested three days later.

The victim is being supported by specialist officers.
