In March fire stations across Greater Manchester held charity car washes to raise money to support the people of Ukraine after the unprovoked invasion by Russian troops.

Firefighters, volunteers and staff from across Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service and Greater Manchester Combined Authority got their hoses out and raised thousands of pounds to support frontline medical charity UK Med.

Once all the donations were tallied up they had raised an incredible £34,606!

The staff wish to say a huge thank you to everyone that took part.

They were delighted to hand over a cheque to UK Med at Fire Service Headquarters on Thursday (7th April).
