Police say that 44-years-old Suleman Altaf, of no fixed address, has been charged with murder after the fatal stabbing of 15-year-old Jakub Szymanski and the attempted murder his mother, additionally he was charged with having an article in a public place.
He has been remanded in custody ahead of a hearing at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court today (Monday 13th June 2022).
The heroic teenager was stabbed as he defended his mother at a property in Miles Platting, his mother was also stabbed during the incident which took place on Thursday 9 June 2022.
